Installing mineral wool insulation was a new experience for me and as a DIYer I love learning new things. I have tried denim, cellulose, and fiberglass so I was ready for the next best thing. This insulation did not disappoint. It was surprisingly easy to cut and install. It created a really tight seal at the studs and I’m super happy with the overall install.
Cutting it is as easy as cutting bread, literally- use a bread knife. Also, the dense nature of this insulation means no stapling; It just fits. It is itchy like fiberglass, but the fire, water, and pest resistance, plus ease of installation and sound reducing qualities won me over.
